My Bird

My favorite animals are birds and my favorite bird is the cockatiel. I have one and his name is Caesar. He is named after Julius Caesar who was an Emperor of ancient Rome. He is twelve years old now and he could live to be 25 years old. I love him very much and he loves me too. When I come home from school he always starts whistling and I have to talk to him for a few minutes before I do anything else.

Cockatiels come from central Australia which is very far away. There are many different colors and mine is yellow white with bright orange cheeks. He's really pretty!

He can talk and whistle songs my family taught him. He whistles POP GOES THE WEASEL, LA CUCURACHA, LULLABY OF BIRDLAND, and he often does the THE WOLF WHISTLE. He can say HELLO, GOOD KISSES, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, and other things but his favorite thing to say is PRETTY BIRD. He's pretty smart for a bird. I love my little Caesar very much.
