Cats
My name is Amanda and I love Cats. I have two cats.

Pammy is gray and has lots of fur.
I have had Pammy for six years since I was 1 1/2 years old. I love Pammy
because she keeps me warm and she is loving to me.
My other cat is named Ginger.
Ginger is a "calico". She is four years old. I love Ginger because
she loves to purr and snuggle with me. Let me tell the story of how Ginger
came to live with us. When I was in preschool my mom was on the fundraising
committee for my school. She went to a Veterinarian clinic to ask for donations
for the school's auction. They gave her Ginger. Since the auction was over
three weeks away we became very attached to her. So we out bid everyone.
Both of my cats are outside cats. Sometimes when it is very cold we let
them in the house. An outdoor cat has an average life expectancy of two
to three years. The average life expectancy of an indoor cat is about 15
years. Like other members of the family Felidae, my cats also love to catch
mice and birds.
The cat's whiskers are very sensitive. They are used for testing obstacles
and sensing changes in the world we live in. A cat may use its whiskers
to feel its way when it is dark.
Taking care of cats and pets is very important.
Every morning before school I feed my cats. I have put a blanket on the
porch for them to sleep on. Sometimes I brush their fur. I do not have to
give them a bath because they clean themselves with their tongues.
Our cats have had all of their shots so they will not get sick. They have
also been spayed so they can not have any babies. This is a good idea so
unwanted animals do not have to go to the Humane Society or run wild.
