How was your school different from our school now?
Grandpa went to school it had eight grades
in it. How did you get to school? He walked.

What chores did you do? He did the dishes and he did his bed every morning and the garden and sweeped floors and folded and put away his clothes and mowed the lawn.
What kind of clothes did you wear? Long trousers and shirts and a hat. did your mather macke your clathes? No we usually went to Elpaso, Texas.
What did toys and food cost? We lived in a
small town- the cows gave us milk and meat and the garden gave
us vegetables we made all of our desserts.What kind of food did
you eat? We had radishes and carrots lettuce and potatoes.

What did children do for fun? We played runing games and house and trucks and tractor.
What was your favorite toy? The dumptruck.
What happened when you were naughty? My mother talked to me and my dad spanked me.
What kind of house did you live in? Adobe covered with cement-- it had a pitched roof and tile on the floor.
What was the biggest change since you were a child? We were with them or sent them a letter if we talked. Today there's telephone and computer and television.
