Lizards live almost everywhere but they don't live in the Antarctia. Some bite and some don't. Lizards like to hide under rocks and they like to sleep in and under logs.
The smallest is a Monitor gecko, he is 11/3" long. The biggest is the Komodo Monitor , he is 10 1/4 feet long.
Some lizards eat leaves, some eat seabird eggs and nestlings, snails, eartworms, and crickets. Most eat insects and spiders and ants. The Komodo can eat pigs, goats, deer and even people. Some have lots of teeth and some have only one.

Lizards are hard and dry and they have bony scales. Some have eyelids and can blink. They can lose part of their tail when something tries to get it. Some can even change color.

Most lizards lay eggs that are soft and they put them in the hole in the ground. Baby lizards after they hatch have to take care of themselves.
I have a lizard at home and it is called an alligator lizard. I feed it mealworms without their heads and crickets. He also has a bowl of water. I hold him all the time.
