Welcome to Room 18
at Naches Trail Elementary (Spring.1996)

In this classroom, parents are always welcome to visit and to
help children with their learning tasks. We are all explorers and
creators of knowledge, and hope that you will join us and share our
educational journey. Exploration and mutual respect and laughter are
essential for these students and their
teacher.

About the Webpage Project:
Making these web pages was a family/child/teacher project, where
children chose subjects, and researched and wrote about them with the
help of parents and teacher. Most of the graphics were scanned from
pictures chosen by the children. Our children are the only
first-graders in Bethel School District to attempt making their own
webpages, and their pages compare very well with those made by much
older students!
This project was initiated by J.B. Fitzpatrick
and sponsored and supported by the Bethel School District. Five
schools (with two teachers from each school) participated in the
first phase of the project. Though Naches Trail does not yet have
internet access, we have computers available to the public where all
our pages, and those from the rest of Bethel schools, can be viewed
by students, parents and patrons.
The software used was a mixture of commercial, (Adobe PageMill) and
shareware/freeware (Netscape, Gifmaker, Graphic Converter, SoundApp).
All our pages were created on Macintosh computers.
