POLAR BEARS

By SOPHIA F.

Polar bears are neat mammals. They are the largest bears on earth. They weigh 700 kilograms.

They live in Antarctica and parts of the North Pole and parts of Alaska. Polar bears can hide with their white and creamy fur in the snow. They keep warm with their thick fur.

They protect their babies. When the babies are born they are so small that they fit between their motherís toes. The babies are born alive. They canít see yet. They stay with their mother until they are full grown. The babies are cute and when they come out of the den they canít walk.

Polar bears eat seals and salmon fish. The polar bear waits for seals in its home and when its head pops out, its gone in one hit! The polar bear is smart. It knows lots of things. Nothing will eat it.

They are very good swimmers. They can stay in the water about two minutes longer than I can. The polar bear loves to swim.
